Cook Security Slab
The slab was cast this morning for Cook Security Group’s new headquarters building at Cascade Station near PDX airport and the FBI Building. Concrete trucks began arriving at 4:00 am to beat traffic so that all the concrete was pumped to the laser screed by 7:00 am.
Stratus Developers is managing the project which started almost exactly 3 years ago with a proposal to Prosper Portland (then Portland Development Commission) to purchase their groundlease from Port of Portland for the 2.715 acre parcel. Approximately 17,000 sq ft of slab was cast for the 1st floor. As is common with multi-story concrete tilt-up buildings, some of the wall panels will be cast on temporary slab placed on the ground this morning that will later be removed and recycled.
Soon after the new year, concrete wall panels will be poured and then erected with a crane that has a special permit from the FAA to safely operate near the flight path.
