Huge Hydraulic Press Ready
AGC Heat Transfer finished installation of a huge hydraulic press in its new building at Fairview, Oregon. The SACMI press was fabricated in Italy and shipped by container for receipt at the Port of Tacoma. Omega Morgan, which specializes in heavy equipment rigging, transported and installed the massive equipment.
The press is now the largest west of the Mississippi River, rated at over 1,000,000 pounds of force. A large concrete pit was installed in the building before the floor slab was cast. Then after completion, a rigging dolly and portable crane was used to tip the press upright and set it inside of the pit. AGC Heat Transfer will use the press to stamp out large sheets of stainless steel used in their heat exchanger products. Stratus Developers worked on AGC’s behalf to manage interior construction within a build-to-suit by Dermody Properties.
