Leatherman Footings Cast
Concrete footings have been cast for Leatherman’s new warehouse near PDX. It will be a fulfillment center for e-commerce as well as warehouse for shipping to wholesale customers. Bremik Construction is the general contractor and LRS the project architects.
Concrete was placed out of the chutes from concrete mixer trucks. Workers assured that the concrete was consolidated between steel reinforcing bars “rebars” before leveling off the top. Interesting that the contractors had to source an alternative supplier for the rebar after a fire in Schnitzer’s McMinnville factory interrupted supply.
Note one picture shows the electrical conduit placed underneath the footing forms. This will provide a path for secondary electrical service wires from the future transformer up into the future electrical room.
Next will be placing under-slab conduit and plumbing pipes. Once that is completed, then slab rebar will be placed and tied in preparation for the slab concrete next month. These bars will be placed in a grid running in both directions as directed by the structural engineer. Completion of the project is slated for summer of 2022.
