Summit Body Breaks Ground
Site work is underway on the new Summit Body manufacturing building in Ridgefield, Washington. The first step was to strip the trees, grass and blackberries from the site. Then cement amending was started to till cement into the wet soil in order to stiffen it for proper compaction.
The new building will be 74,000 sq ft with 11,000 sq ft of the space being office. This will allow the company to substantially increase production of truck bodies after moving from the current North Portland location late this year.
Robert Evans Company is the general contractor. CIDA and AAI are the design team. The project has a site permit from Clark County with the building permit pending soon. Stratus Developers is working on behalf of Summit Body to manage the design, permits, financing and construction.
