Tacoma Footings Cast
Concrete is being placed in footings at a new 10,288 square foot warehouse for Acme Construction Supply adjacent to their existing contractor store in Tacoma. Since the site is sloped, the footing stem walls are more complex taking more time to form, tie rebar and place concrete. Stratus Developers is managing the project for the owner-occupant, our third fee development assignment for the Portland based company.
Redevelopment of an urban site after demolition of an existing building brought more challenge with need to subdivide the lot, remediate hazardous debris and over excavate undocumented fill. Sitts & Hill from Tacoma is providing multiple design disciplines, Mackenzie is shepherding the Green Globes sustainability process, and Cornice Construction is the general contractor.
There is a priority to get the site grading, paving and landscaping done before the fall weather deteriorates, followed by erection of the pre-engineered steel building shell.
